Room Reservations

  • Meeting Room A

    Meeting Room A in Carnegie East Wing has a built-in screen for presentations. Kitchenette access is just down the hall, as are restrooms.

  • Meeting Room B

    Meeting Room B in Carnegie East Wing has direct access to the kitchenette through a door.

  • Meeting Room C

    Meeting Room C is in Carnegie East Wing. It has access to the kitchenette in the hall, where restrooms are also located.

  • Morristown Branch Meeting Room

    Velma Wortman Morristown Branch of the Shelby County Public Library offers a versatile meeting room with a kitchenette and restrooms nearby.

  • Outdoor Plaza

    The Outdoor Plaza nestles between the Shelby County Public Library and the Carnegie East Wing with a relaxing fountain, plants and benches. Tables, chairs, and a stage wired with electricity completes its amenities.

  • Nighttime on the Outdoor Plaza

    Enjoy an evening wedding or business get-together with music when the fountain lights come on and the sun sets!

  • Shelbyville Branch Meeting Room

    The main Shelbyville Branch offers a spacious meeting room with attached kitchenette with pass-through window. Library staff sometimes pass through the room to access the kitchenette and staff dining area or to access offices.

Carnegie East Wing

These meeting rooms are located in the Annex, next to the main library.

  • Each has access to a kitchenette

  • Rooms are equipped with mobile tables and chairs

  • Free Wi-Fi connection is available

  • A pull-down screen is available for presentations in Rooms A & B

  • Audio/Visual equipment is available for an additional fee.(*Tech support is limited.)

  • Rooms seat 35-40 people comfortably (with tables and chairs).

  • Reservations are required to use the rooms. Check availability and make reservations at (317) 398-7002.

Shelbyville Branch

  • Please note that this room is not enclosed; therefore, there is not a way to block noise from visitors of the library. Staff members also sometimes have to pass through this area to use the kitchenette. We recommend renting a room in the library's annex, the Carnegie East Wing, if you want privacy during your event.

  • It has access to a kitchenette

  • The room is equipped with a mobile table and chairs

  • Free Wi-Fi connection is available

  • Audio/Visual equipment is available for an additional fee. (*Tech support is limited.)

  • Room seats 35-40 people comfortably (with tables and chairs).

PUBLIC MEETING ROOM FEES:

  • Not-for-profit Groups:

    • $20 for up to 4 hours

    • For use beyond 4 hours, there will be an additional $10 charge

    • Not-for-profit groups who desire to meet on a regular basis, monthly or more frequently, have an option to pay in the following ways:

      • PAY FOR THE ENTIRE YEAR UP FRONT: Fees will be discounted 50%.

      • PAY QUARTERLY: Fees will be discounted 25%.

 

  • For-profit Groups:

    • $45 for up to 4 hours

    • For use beyond 4 hours, there will be an additional $20 charge

  • *If a not-for-profit group is charging for an event that is held at the library, they will be charged the “for-profit” fee of $40.00 for up to 4 hours. For use beyond 4 hours, there will be an additional $20.00 charge.

  • Use of library's audio-visual/computer equipment during your meeting/event: an additional fee of $10.00 will be charged
