Redacted Reader

Redacted Reader is an award-winning essayist and short story writer and a regular newspaper columnist. Her prime motivation in life is to exceed the expectations of the high school journalism teacher who once predicted that she would fail miserably as a writer. To date, that pitiless curse remains in effect: Redacted Reader has, in fact, not published any Great American Novels. She contents herself with reading, reshelving, and recommending them.

 

When she isn’t busy picking up decorations and snacks for her upcoming pity party, Redacted Reader amuses herself – and annoys others – by proofreading business signage, closed captions, subtitles, and internet comments with gleeful hubris and former spelling bee champion snobbery. Nerd pride aside, she spends the remainder of her time staring into the abyss while creepily chanting the name of her pedantic nemesis.
