Rated PG, this 1987 movie is the perfect lead-in to Mike Familant’s presentation on the Shadow of Redeye, his presentation on that mysterious cryptid, Bigfoot! Shadow of Redeye-Bigfoot! (@ShelbyMain Open Area)

Join producer, Mike Familant as he shares his experiences researching and tracking down the truth behind North America's most iconic cryptid, Bigfoot. Whatever name you choose to call this large, bipedal hominid, Mike and his team has probably tried to track it down. He is a full-time lead investigator and producer of the show "In the Shadow of Big Red Eye." He will exhibit some extraordinary evidence backed by facts, along with some unfortunate experiences which come from Bigfooting. A Q&A session will be held afte the presentation and Mike will be available for photos and autographs. Today we play Coup! You are head of a family in an Italian city-state, a city run by a weak and corrupt court. You need to manipulate, bluff and bribe your way to power. Your object is to destroy the influence of all the other families, forcing them into exile. Only one family will survive…

Closing Early Good Friday (All Library Locations)

All Shelby County Public Library locations will close early on Friday, March 29 at 5 pm in honor of Good Friday. This includes the Velma Wortman Morristown Branch, the main Shelbyville Branch, and Carnegie East Wing, which houses the Computer Lab, the Genealogy & History Department, and the Friends of the Library Used Book Store.

All locations will open at 9 am on Saturday, March 30.

Join in the card-playing fun as Pam organizes a game of progressive Euchre on Wednesday, March 20 at 6 pm to 8:30 pm. Players will have a new partner each game. Drinks and light snacks will be provided. There is a limit to 24 players. Sign up at the circulation desk in Adult Services in the main building of the Shelbyville Branch, 57 E. Broadway St.

To keep patrons safe from the fans and dehumidifiers drying out the book stacks in the Shelby County Public Library, the Shelbyville Branch's main building will again be closed to the public on Saturday, Jan. 20. However, the Carnegie East Wing will be open! Holds may be picked up in the Computer Lab in the CEW Annex. Call the Computer Lab for holds at 317-398-7121 Ext. 303, or just call the main library number for assistance.

The Shelbyville Main Library Branch will be CLOSED to the public on Friday, Jan. 19. All programs in the building are CANCELLED. However, the Carnegie East Wing Annex will be open from 9 am-5 pm. If patrons need help, they may go to Carnegie East Wing, 33 W. Broadway, and we will help. Hello, library friends! Here is an update:

The Shelbyville branch will be closed today due to a water leak that has flooded our adult services area and is leaking through the ceiling.

The Carnegie East Wing, so the Computer Lab and Shelby County Public Library Genealogy & History Department open today, with normal hours. If you need any assistance, or materials, please visit them and we will do our best to help you with your needs.

The Velma Wortman Morristown Branch - Shelby County Public Library will open with normal hours.

We appreciate your understanding and apologize for the inconveniences this week.

Closing Today at Shelbyville Branch

Due to a continued lack of heat, plus a lack of handicap-accessible doors, the Shelbyville Branch is closing today, Wednesday, Jan. 17, at noon.

Until then, the Morristown Branch is open and warm! If you would like a cozy place to read, head to Morristown, 127 E. Main St.

The warming shelter at the Shelby County Fairgrounds remains open at this time. The shelter will be open 24 hours a day until further notice. If you know anyone who could benefit from the shelter please let them know it is open.

“You’re Getting Old!” No, really, it’s just a game!

Board Game Night will play this hilarious game designed for aging millenials ready to embrace their inner senior citizen. Perfect for those 18 and up.

Players draw cards with an “old” and “redeem” prompt. Players move their pieces up and down their “Path To Getting Old” card based on if they’ve said or done what’s listed in the prompt.

For example, if you’ve every scrolled Spotify’s top 100 list and thought to yourself, “Who are these people?” you have to move up a space.

Mistletoe Market Pre-Party (ShelbyMain)

Warm up with hot drinks and a hug from Olaf before heading to Public Square for the Mistletoe Market. The library has goodie bags to take home, a picture booth with Olaf from “Frozen,” and two choirs singing Christmas songs. The Blue River Youth Choir performs at 4 pm, and the Blue River Community Choir takes the stage at 5 pm.
