Closed for Memorial Day (All Branches)
All library buildings will be closed for Memorial Day, Monday, May 27. This includes Morristown, Shelbyville, and Carnegie East Wing. All locations will re-open on Tuesday, May 28 at their regularly scheduled time.
Enjoy this day that honors and remembers those veterans who have made the ultimate sacrifice for the United States.
Library Closed for New Year's Day (@All Branches)
To celebrate the New Year, all library branches will be closed on Monday, Jan. 1, 2024. This includes the Velma Wortman Morristown Branch, the Shelbyville Main Branch, Carnegie East wing Annex, which houses the Computer Lab, Friends of the Library Used Book Store, and the Genealogy & History Department.
All locations open on Tuesday, Jan. 2, at their regularly scheduled times. Shelbyville Main and Carnegie East Wing will open their doors at 9 am. The Morristown Branch will open at 10 am.
As always, Libby and Hoopla will be available to check out e-books, movies, TV shows, graphic novels, documentaries, albums, and audiobooks. Closed for Thanksgiving (All Library Branches)
Shelby County Public Library branches will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday. This includes the Velma Wortman Morristown Branch in Morristown, Indiana, and the Carnegie East Wing at 33 W. Broadway, which houses our Genealogy & History Department and Computer Lab. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
All branches will reopen at normal business hours on Friday, Nov. 24. Shelbyville Main and Carnegie East Wing will open at 9 am, while Morristown branch will open at 10 am.
