Books & Brew: Not Your Mother's Book Club (Cagney's)

  • The Horizon Center / Shelby Senior Services 1504 S Harrison St Shelbyville, IN, 46176 United States (map)

This is a community for younger adults, 20s-30s, and the young at heart. We meet once a month to discuss books, films, and other "hot topics" at Cagney's Pizza King.

Copies of the book are located in the Book Club Display to the right of the main desk in the library. In July, we will be discussing THE LANGUAGE OF THORNS: MIDNIGHT TALES AND DANGEROUS MAGIC by Leigh Bardugo.

Travel to a world of dark bargains struck by moonlight, of haunted towns and hungry woods, of talking beasts and gingerbread golems, where a young mermaid’s voice can summon deadly storms and where a river might do a lovestruck boy’s bidding but only for a terrible price.

Inspired by myth, fairy tale, and folklore, #1 New York Times–bestselling author Leigh Bardugo has crafted a deliciously atmospheric collection of short stories filled with betrayals, revenge, sacrifice, and love...

Zachary Balgeman, Assistant Department Head of Adult Services, will lead the discussion. Questions? (317) 398-7121 or zbalgeman@sscpl.lib.in.us
