This group is geared toward those in 6th-8th grades. Every second Monday… we’ll meet up and discuss the book of the month with one another. The book could be any genre and may go beyond what might be your comfort zone of books or what you might pick on your own.
How are books chosen? Books will be chosen by the librarians with input from the group as well.
What if I didn’t enjoy the book? Life would be boring if we all liked the same things! Please, share! … but remember to adhere to Rule #1.
Can I come if I don’t finish the book? Yes! Just know that there might be spoilers if you do!
What if I can’t make it this month? It’s not a requirement. Just come when you can! The meetings are not mandatory, but they are more fun with you!
What if my dog eats the book? Let me know immediately of any damage done to your book and we’ll figure out what needs to be done.
Do I come alone? Feel free to come to the meeting with or without your parent(s). Whatever makes you comfortable.
Rules: Of course there are rules. There are only a few simple ones. And they are VERY easy to follow. I promise.
Be respectful of one another.
Be respectful of the materials.
The books given to you by the library for the book group are to be treated with care and returned to the library.
You must listen to the librarian in charge.
These are the books that we have planned for 2019. If any titles change, we’ll be sure to update the list! The book discussion group will meet in the youth department.
