When: Monday, June 3; 3-6pm (open house)

Who: Open to the public
The library is celebrating its 110th birthday and kicking off the 2013 summer reading season with an ice cream social on Monday, June 3. Stop by the library anytime between 3-6pm to sign up for summer reading, get ice cream, listen to WSVX, and enjoy the children’s activities including a bounce house. Ronald McDonald will be giving a show with magic tricks at 3pm in the library’s Carnegie East Wing. This show will fill on a first come, first serve basis. The Kurt Vonnegut Memorial Library’s traveling exhibit will be on display inside the library.
This is a free event and open to the public. Free will donations will be accepted for renovation at the library’s annex, the Carnegie East Wing. Bake sale items will be sold to raise funds for our youth department’s educational resources. The Shelby County Democrats will be hosting a book sale at the event to donate proceeds to the library. This event will take place rain or shine.
If you would like to bring a bake sale item for the event, please contact Laura Guenin at 317-398-7121. Please bag baked goods or prepare them to sell and drop them off at the library anytime before the event. We will price the items. Thank you!
