His work has been recognized by the Society of Professional Journalists, the National Newspaper Association and Bonner has twice been named Indiana's "Best Cartoonist" by the Hoosier State Press Association.

On the other hand, Bonner's work has been called silly, foolish, ignorant, crude, stupid, shameful, subversive and incomprehensible. In addition, Bonner has personally been cursed, berated, defamed, blamed, maligned, vilified and slandered.

He sincerely appreciates the attention.
